1. Don’t mix drink and drugs, it increases the risks related to both, such as overheating and dehydration.
2. Just because you know your dealer, it doesn’t mean that your dealer knows what’s in your drugs.
3. Ecstasy pills and MDMA crystal both may contain MDMA (the active ingredient). However, they both may contain other substances of concern, including PMA, and currently some methylone is being sold as MDMA crystal.
If going out clubbing make sure you take regular breaks from dancing to cool down. Drink up to a pint of water an hour to replenish body fluids. If you or your friends feel at all unwell please see the club paramedics for assistance. Look after your mates and make sure everyone gets home safely afterwards. If you have been clubbing the night before take it easy the next day, eat and drink to replenish your system, check up on your mates and have an early night.
Notes for editors:
Ecstasy pills and MDMA crystal (known as MD, Mandy) are the same drug in a different form – the main active ingredient of both is usually MDMA. However MDMA in pill and crystal form is a Class A drug, so its contents are unregulated and may contain other substances.
PMA (para-methoxyamphetamine) is a Class A amphetamine-type drug which has been found in both ecstasy pills and MDMA crystal and has been linked to a number of deaths. The risks associated with it are due to the longer time to take effect and increased risk of hyperpyrexia or overheating. If taking ecstasy pills or MDMA crystal and the effects seem delayed wait awhile, do not redose and be careful of overheating. For further information see:

Methylone is a Class B substituted cathinone similar to mephedrone. Due to its crystalline appearance it is being sold as MDMA crystal. The effects are similar to other amphetamine-type drugs with the added concern that users may want to redose sooner than they would with other drugs and they may experience a more severe come-down the day after use.
